What you'll do:
As an In House Housing Lawyer, you will play a crucial role in managing your own caseload, handling injunction applications, and defending claims. You will provide valuable advice on various housing issues, ensuring that all legal advice delivered is cost-effective. Your role will also involve supervising a paralegal and fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders. This role requires excellent organisational skills, high initiative levels, and the ability to provide first-rate client service.
- Manage your own caseload of possession proceedings largely relying upon the Grounds in Schedule 2 of the Housing Act 1988
- Handle injunction applications and defend claims issued against it particularly under Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985
- Provide advice to key stakeholders in the business on a range of Housing issues
- Deliver cost-effective legal advice and manage relationships with external law firms
- Supervise a paralegal
- Develop and maintain internal stakeholder relationships
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this In House Housing Lawyer position is a UK qualified lawyer with experience in Real Estate. You should have knowledge of relevant laws such as the Housing Act 1988, Landlord & Tenant Act 1985, and Equality Act 2010. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential for this role, along with a high degree of initiative. Your ability to provide first-rate client service both internally and externally will set you apart.
