I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Legal secretary to work in a busy Private Client team. The role involves working for one fee earner and supporting them by performing various administrative duties. These include typing legal documents and correspondence, answering the phones, organising diaries and preparing files for meetings, maintaining organised files, communicating with clients, and answering simple enquiries.
Good organisational skills are imperative, as is an ability to show initiative when required and work as part of a team.
Tasks
- Audio typing or copy typing of letters and other documents.
- Receiving and dealing with telephone calls, taking messages, and answering simple enquiries.
- Dealing with file creation and organisation in line with the firm's and Lexcel's requirements.
- Under the guidance of the fee earner, seeing clients to take instructions and complete forms.
- Diary maintenance.
- Liaising with the firm’s account department and following accounts procedures.
- Archiving of closed files.
- Any other tasks that may be reasonably required.
Requirements
Essential
- Legal Secretary experience
- Audio typing experience
- Communication - good telephone manner
- Computer literacy
- Personable manner and team working skills.
Desirable
- Basic knowledge of legal procedures

- Word processing training and/or experience
