We're seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager to lead the delivery of M&E projects focused on upgrading and maintaining essential assets across a diverse estate.

Description

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager to lead the delivery of M&E projects focused on upgrading and maintaining essential assets across a diverse estate. You'll serve as the M&E expert on both improvement and new-build projects, ensuring projects align with our Estates Strategy, budget, and timeline. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a significant portfolio that directly impacts the estates facilities' functionality and efficiency.

Tasks & responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Project Leadership: Manage the end-to-end delivery of M&E projects, including the design, specification, and budgeting for systems such as HVAC, lighting, and data infrastructure, with an annual budget over £2 million.
  • Technical Oversight: Guide the technical design stages (RIBA stages 0-4), review contractor designs (stages 5-6), and oversee witness testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior stakeholders and prepare Capital Business Cases, project scopes, and feasibility studies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects meet British Standards, BSRIA, and relevant M&E legislation.
  • Procurement & Financial Management: Oversee procurement processes, manage contracts, and monitor project budgets and financial reports.
  • Risk & Quality Management: Proactively manage project risks, maintain risk logs, and ensure projects meet high standards.
  • Sustainability Focus: Support carbon reduction efforts through renewable M&E options and prepare reports to demonstrate their benefits.

Profile

The ideal applicant for this role would be able to meet and demonstrate the below knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent; Chartered status or working towards it (e.g., CEng, CIBSE, IET).
  • Experience: Proven project management in M&E with budgets up to £5 million, preferably in "Blue Light" environments. Familiarity with CAD, compliance testing, and M&E snagging.
  • Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement, team leadership, financial acumen, and risk management. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft 365.
  • Behaviors: Adheres to the Police Competency and Values Framework with demonstrated resilience, inclusivity, and creative problem-solving.

The role is based at the head office in Hindlip, Worcestershire so we would expect applicants to live in or around the Worcestershire region.

Job Offer

The salary range for this role is £52,489 - £57,489 and you will also be enrolled on to a local government pension scheme.
