Job Description

A Snapshot of Your Day:

The Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineer will be responsible for technical ownership of the additive processes for New Product Introduction. This will include AM build data preparation (CAD based), generation of depowdering programs & instructions, problem solving and production manufacturing support. Meanwhile the engineer should interface with other departments of the business and support customer communication where required. You will support other members of the team and continuous improvement programs.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Define and generate AM build jobs, using CAD & AM software such as NX and Magics, also EOSPrint & QuantAM
  • Generate Manufacturing drawings and instructions that ensure products meet MSL manufacturing & customer requirements
  • Reduce product risks by supporting PFMEAs, Control Plans and Gated Reviews
  • In consultation with the engineering team, maintain and apply continuous improvement to the industrialization procedures in line with industry standards.
  • Support customers in their adoption of AM through your assigned projects.

What You Bring

  • Experience of engineering within a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience with Additive preparation suites (Magics or similar) would be beneficial
  • Experience with LPBF/SLM would be beneficial
  • Experience generating manufacturing drawings
  • Knowledge of Design fundamentals
  • Competent in CAD (NX or similar)
  • Competent in MS Office.
  • Comfortable discussing, explaining, and debating complex technical problems within the team, and occasionally working directly with customers.

About the team

You will work within the AM engineering team, which comprises Additive and Applications expertise. You will also work closely with the NPI Engineering team, operations team and production engineering; encouraging customer focus in our engineering activities and right first time. MSL provide manufacturing solutions to the Laser Powder Bed Fusion part manufacture requirements of the Aerospace and Gas & Powder industries.
