Location: Alexandra Hospital (Specialty Medicine)

Ward: Occupational Therapy In-Patient Services

Pay Rates: £29.20 Per hour

Shift Patterns: Either 08:00-16:00 or 08:30-16:30, Mon-Fri

Why might this job interest you?

You will be part of a team delivering Occupational Therapy to 7 wards, predominantly acute medicine to a patient group of moderate to complex cases. On occasion you may be required to lone work within the patients’ home environment which will include manual handling including the delivery and fitting of equipment. There may be a requirement for earlier assessment and intervention and proactive discharge planning to ensure that patients leave the hospital having been provided quality Occupational Therapy for a safe and timely discharge.

What you can add:

  • Experience of leading a team and supervising others.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with a variety of patients in an acute physical health setting.
  • Experience working with an MDT, as well as carrying a caseload, writing clinical notes and supervising others.
  • Recommend support and equipment needs to facilitate discharge, as well as physically assessing patients on the wards in an acute hospital.
  • This role may include community visits to assess physical environments at patients homes.

What you’ll need:

  • Diploma in Occupational therapy.
  • HCPC Registration
  • UK NHS Experience
  • Post registration experience working at Band 6 or above
