Reed Further Education are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to mark A Level National Extended Assignments (NEAs) for Edexcel History. The focus is on evaluating student essays on the topic of the Holocaust and its historical interpretations. This role requires collecting scripts from the college, marking them at home and adhering to strict deadlines.

Job Title: History Coursework Marker

Role type: Temporary over Easter holidays

Location: Remote – travel is required to collect and deliver student scripts

Salary: £14p/h to £16p/h including holiday pay

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Collect 43 scripts from the college.
  • Mark each script, which is expected to take approximately 30-40 minutes per script.
  • Provide constructive feedback and grades according to the Edexcel guidelines.
  • Ensure all scripts are marked and feedback is completed within the two-week timeframe over the Easter holidays.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in marking academic essays, preferably at the A Level or higher education level.
  • Understanding of Edexcel exam board for A-level history.
  • Level 3 or higher qualification in subject area.
  • A relevant Teaching Qualification.
  • Strong understanding of historical topics, specifically World War II and the Holocaust.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet the marking deadline.
  • Access to transportation for script collection and delivery.
