ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Worcester on a full-time basis.

About the Role:

  • A well-established school is seeking an enthusiastic, devoted, and caring learning support assistant to work with children with special educational needs.
  • The school is looking for someone to provide support to children on a one-to-one and small-group basis in a classroom setting, working alongside a Teacher and additional support staff.
  • Promote student engagement and participation during lessons.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment that encourages growth and independence for all students.

About the School:

  • A secondary purpose built specialist school catering for students aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs which include:- Moderate, Severe and Profound Learning Disabilities, Sensory Impairment, Communication Difficulties, Autism/ADHD, Social and Emotional Mental Health Difficulties,  Physical Disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy or Spina Bifida and Complex Medical Conditions.
  • The school adopts an inspiring approach focusing on meeting the individual needs of each student, especially with the tailored support that is offered with Education Health and Care Plans.
  • Students have an active role in shaping their education and school environment, encouraging self-assessment and involvement in their Review Meetings and also participation in decisions about their future pathways helps them develop a sense of ownership over their learning and personal growth.
  • The school nurtures both the academic and social growth of students by encouraging them to participate in sports, drama and music which lead to building self-confidence but also provide opportunities for students to connect with others, which can be especially beneficial for students with varying needs.

About you:-

  • Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Are dedicated, compassionate, and eager to go the extra mile to support the students in your care.
  • Can provide appropriate references and pass a DBS check.


Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a suitable qualification for working with children and experience working with special education needs.
