Job Title: Social Worker – Safeguarding Team

Location: Worcester, United Kingdom

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary Range: £29,777 - £39,186, per annum, dependent on experience.

The Role:

As a Social Worker, your role is to listen, connect, and empower adults and carers, fostering their well-being, independence, and access to community resources. You'll provide intensive support during crises and assist in future planning. Using meaningful conversations, assessments, and support plans, you'll guide individuals and their caregivers toward fulfilling lives within their communities.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Provide intensive support to adults with complex needs, using a strength-based approach to manage risks effectively.
  • Collaborate with professionals for a multi-agency approach, fostering independence for adults and their carers.
  • Ensure compliance with Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Apply legislation, policies, and social work theories autonomously.
  • Support professional growth through mentoring, peer support, and reflective practice.
  • Identify and assist adults and carers at risk, adhering to safeguarding principles.
  • Represent the Authority in court proceedings and contribute to decision-making.
  • Advocate for service users' views, make decisions, and review progress.
  • Conduct eligibility assessments under the Care Act (2014) through meaningful conversations.
  • Build strong relationships with agencies and the community for effective signposting.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification in social work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in social work, including assessment and support planning.
  • Extensive experience in social care with adults, especially older adults, and those with physical disabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative working with health and social care agencies.
  • Experience in utilising community resources to create sustainable care packages.
  • Ability to travel throughout the county, to families, young people, internal and external clients and within a timely manner.
