Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for a Deputy Nurse Manager on behalf of an excellent care provider based in the West Midlands. I am seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Deputy Nurse Manager to join the team at a well-established and reputable nursing home in the Worcester area. Specialising in residential and nursing care, this is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking to contribute to high-quality care while developing their leadership skills in a supportive environment.
As Deputy Nurse Manager, you will play a key role in assisting the Registered Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the care home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding the health and wellbeing of residents, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. You will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team of nurses and healthcare assistants, as well as working closely with families and external healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Nurse Manager in supervising and leading the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care. Oversee daily operations, ensuring a smooth running of the nursing home in line with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the nursing team, promoting continuous professional development and ensuring staff are supported in their roles. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.
- Monitor and assess care delivery, ensuring all residents receive personalised care plans, and that medical needs are met. Work closely with the team to ensure the highest clinical standards are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and maintain high standards of clinical care. Lead audits, reviews, and assessments to improve service quality.
- Act as a point of contact for residents and their families, providing updates on care and addressing concerns or requests. Ensure residents’ dignity, comfort, and safety are maintained.
- Support the Nurse Manager in ensuring a safe working environment for both staff and residents, following all health and safety guidelines and safeguarding protocols.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC pin.
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership or supervisory role within a care home environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and the ability to maintain compliance.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for delivering high-quality care and improving residents’ quality of life.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Management qualification such as Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards).
- Experience in residential and nursing care settings.
