Ward: Acute Speech & Language Therapy

Pay Rates: £25.60 Per Hour

Shift Patterns: 5 hours per week on a weekday (flexible on day)

Why might this job interest you?

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to work with Worcester Acute Hospitals to support the voice service by independently managing an outpatient waiting list and voice caseload. In this role, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and booking their appointments and therapy plans.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Provide leadership to a team of therapists responsible for the care of voice and/ or upper airways patients who are under the care of an ENT Consultant at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust.
  • Act as lead clinician for the voice service in the provision of outpatient care across the three hospital sites, ensuring equitable access to SLT.
  • Act as a highly specialist clinician working with patients on the voice caseload.
  • Contribute to service delivery and development with a view to providing a streamlined, evidence-based service, promoting the role of the SLT in early intervention and diagnosis of voice disorders

What you’ll need:

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC
  • Advanced on-going postgraduate training in voice and upper airway disorders.
  • Experience of conducting and interpretating EEL (Endoscopic Evaluation of the Larynx)
  • Significant post qualification experience of working proactively within a multidisciplinary team in ENT
  • Experience of leading teams and people management, as well as supervising assistants and students.

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
