Location: Worcester Hybrid (2-3 days in the office, rest remote)
Contract: Until January, with potential for extension
Rate: 22-24 per hour (via umbrella)
We're looking for an experienced Income Officer to join a housing team on a temporary basis. In this role, you'll manage rent arrears, service charges, and other debts within a specific area, taking the appropriate action to ensure income recovery.
Key Responsibilities as an Income Officer:
- Handle all aspects of rent arrears and debt recovery, following policies and procedures to minimise arrears.
- Manage legal actions and serve the correct notices, with potential court appearances.
- Collaborate with Housing Benefit teams, DWP, and external agencies to secure tenant entitlements.
- Provide advice on financial inclusion and signpost to support services as needed.
- Work closely with Neighbourhood Officers and other teams to ensure effective service delivery.
About You:
- Proven experience in income management, preferably in the housing sector.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an empathetic approach to customer needs.
- Familiarity with housing benefit processes and financial support services.
- Ability to follow legal protocols in income recovery, including court procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Additional Information:
- Hybrid working model: 2-3 days in the office, with the remainder working from home.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.
