Income Officer (Temporary Contract)
Location: Worcester Hybrid (2-3 days in the office, rest remote)
Contract: Until January, with potential for extension

We're looking for an experienced Income Officer to join a housing team on a temporary basis. In this role, you'll manage rent arrears, service charges, and other debts within a specific area, taking the appropriate action to ensure income recovery.

Key Responsibilities as an Income Officer:
  • Handle all aspects of rent arrears and debt recovery, following policies and procedures to minimise arrears.
  • Manage legal actions and serve the correct notices, with potential court appearances.
  • Collaborate with Housing Benefit teams, DWP, and external agencies to secure tenant entitlements.
  • Provide advice on financial inclusion and signpost to support services as needed.
  • Work closely with Neighbourhood Officers and other teams to ensure effective service delivery.

About You:
  • Proven experience in income management, preferably in the housing sector.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an empathetic approach to customer needs.
  • Familiarity with housing benefit processes and financial support services.
  • Ability to follow legal protocols in income recovery, including court procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

Additional Information:
  • Hybrid working model: 2-3 days in the office, with the remainder working from home.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.
