Director of H&S Compliance - £Exceptional + Package - UK wide (remote working with regional office visits)

We’re working with one of the largest property services groups in the UK. With specific operations undertaken according to their specialist trading brands, they now seek a Director of H&S Compliance as follows:

  • The role sits within their corporate team, reporting to the board and working nationally from home and a number of regional offices as required.
  • You will focus solely on their residential estates services sector, overseeing the work of the incumbent H&S and compliance teams
  • You will develop and implement tools to effectively audit, monitor and review compliance in relation to building safety, fire safety and health and safety across the business brands
  • You will provide leadership in developing and driving a culture of improvement within each business. This will involve setting priorities and driving governance in key performance areas.

In terms of duties you will:

  • Be the main corporate health & safety support function and lead for our operational businesses.
  • Monitor and review the health, safety and compliance function activity in each business.
  • Work with the businesses to set and measure key health & safety performance priorities.
  • Be accountable for the production of quality performance data, analysis and recommendations for each business.
  • Set up and maintain governance processes.
  • Guide, develop and support the safety experts in the businesses.
  • Set up and personally lead audit programmes in each business.
  • Build positive and open relationships will key leadership stakeholders across each business.

Suitable Health & Safety Compliance applicants will:

  • Hold CMIOSH, MIFSM or AIFireE and be able to demonstrate competency in Building Safety.
  • Have experience of a health & safety leadership role in a residential environment, ideally coming from a medium to larger sized employer background
  • Come from a stable career background with experience of leading and inspiring health and safety teams.
  • Be able to build and implement performance management and assurance controls.
  • Have experience running high level audit programmes.

Remuneration for the successful Director of Health & Safety Compliance will depend on experience and qualification, but our client is prepared to offer an exceptional basic salary coupled to an executive benefits package that will include a car allowance and perks.
