Look no further! Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dynamic Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding special needs school in Workington.

About the School:

The school creates life-changing opportunities for children and young people aged 4-18 with Autism. The school believe that given the right environment, all autistic children are capable of excellence across all aspects of their personal and academic lives. And therefore aim to provide young people with autism the opportunity reach their full potential in life.

Position Overview:

As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour resulting from additional needs. You will be based in the room designed for pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs, providing assistance and guidance to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Daily Rate of Pay: £87.50 - £105 per day

Start Date: January 2025, or sooner for the right candidate

Location: Nearby to Workington, West Cumbria

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies for students with autism who demonstrate challenging behaviour.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support as required.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role in Workington, you will need to:

  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one), Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
  • Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
