Permanent Staff

Our client is a publicly owned company focusing on clean energy, health & nuclear medicine and environmental restoration.

Their work includes the supply of bespoke remote handling equipment, tooling, inspection systems and robotic systems and tooling for all aspects of remote operations plant intervention work in the nuclear industry

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play an essential role in delivering projects that few others in the sector are tackling, all while contributing to the advancement of cleaner energy solutions and safe nuclear practices.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Use AutoCAD to produce 2D detailed design drawings and schematics for control panels, machinery, and instrumentation.
  2. Conduct and document detailed technical and design calculations.
  3. Support the build, installation, and commissioning of plant equipment and inactive test rigs for trialling new technologies.
  4. Prepare critical product safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and maintenance manuals.
  5. Provide guidance to technicians and oversee the procurement process, including developing specifications and inspecting deliveries.

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
  2. Experience with 2D CAD design packages, ideally AutoCAD.
  3. Project experience from concept design through to delivery.
  4. Ability to obtain SC-level security clearance, which includes 5 years of UK residency (you can start the role without this).
  5. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety management qualification preferred.
  6. Ability to serve as a Laboratory Task Supervisor and provide technical mentorship.
