The Application Support Engineer is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of core technology systems and infrastructure that enable the delivery of customer-facing IT services.

Description
- Manage technology infrastructure: Cloud services, physical hardware, storage, networks, telephony, firewalls, operating systems, email systems.
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution: Analyze and resolve issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Trend analysis: Ensure optimal infrastructure performance and recommend improvements.
- Cybersecurity: Maintain infrastructure security and align with best practices.
- Cloud configuration: Manage capacity and optimize usage.
- Vendor management: Oversee infrastructure development and upgrades, ensuring compliance with contracts.
- User account management: Manage accounts in Active Directory, SharePoint, Teams, Office 365.
- Project management: Lead technical projects within ICT and support business projects requiring IT input.
- Service Desk support: Assist Service Desk staff with training and issue resolution.
- Change control: Ensure infrastructure changes are tested, documented, and follow governance.
- IT documentation: Support maintenance of IT architecture documentation.
- Knowledge sharing: Contribute to IT knowledge base and promote sharing across IT and business.
Profile
- Min qualification of Information Technology related HND (level 5) or equivalent through relevant training/experience
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grade C (4) or above in English Language and Maths (or equivalent)
- Cloud maintenance/management - Azure platform
- O365 including Microsoft Teams & SharePoint
- Strong knowledge of IT security practices, management, and tools
- Data security, retrieval, and access management
- Systems analysis, requirements gathering, and technical specification creation
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
- Testing, deployment, and service transition
- Experience of operating and maintaining infrastructure and application-level solutions in a complex IT environment
- Cloud service configuration and management - Azure
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
- Knowledge and experience of project management methods and practices
- Experience of developing & managing relationships with suppliers and partners
