Location: Workington

Salary: £13.50/hour + Overtime

Hours: Flexible, 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with a single half-day weekend cover as required)

About the Role

Talento Group is delighted to be recruiting for our long-established and well respected client in Workington who produce and distribute clean linen to the hospitality industry.

We are recruiting a Transport Supervisor to join a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This is a critical role, responsible for planning and managing driver and vehicle resources to ensure delivery and collection targets are met efficiently and compliantly. If you have strong organisational skills, a thorough understanding of transport regulations, and a passion for maintaining high service standards, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan driver schedules and delivery runs, optimising resources while adhering to working time directives and drivers' hours regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with vehicle safety, including defects, servicing, and MOT schedules.
  • Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring company standards are upheld at all times.
  • Address live driver queries and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Investigate fleet damage incidents and escalate to line management as needed.
  • Conduct disciplinary hearings, return-to-work interviews, and support risk assessment processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain service levels and achieve business goals.

Requirements

  • Significant knowledge of tachograph rules, driver regulations, and road transport directives.
  • CPC National qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a transport or logistics setting.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with high numeracy levels.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Proven experience in an FMCG transport environment is highly advantageous.
