We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Forestry Contracts Managerto join our team at our Workington Mill. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return you will receive a competitive salary and become part of our welcoming team.

Holmen Board & Paper is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients’ customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Supply Chain, the successful candidate will:

  • Manage and co-ordinate work within the Forest areas.
  • Provide operational and logistical support to area managers as required.
  • Monitor and develop harvesting and haulage systems within the area.
  • Work with the Forest Area Managers to support harvesting and haulage operations to ensure effective delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor quality and compliance.
  • Ensure operations comply with national legislation relating to environmental and health & safety guidelines. 

The successful Forestry Contracts Manager will desirably have:

  • A relevant Forestry or land-based qualification.
  • Experience of managing harvesting operations, organising transport and trading within the forestry supply chain.
  • Appropriate training in both the working environment and Health & Safety.
  • Good knowledge of the forest industry and related organisations.
  • Good knowledge of Environment and Certification within Forestry.
  • Knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft office suite).
