About Us:
GSL Education South Yorkshire branch's secondary desk offers a wide range of high-demand job roles across our client schools, with competitive pay rates. These include positions as teaching assistants, cover supervisors, and cover teachers, as well as full-time opportunities for fresh graduates. Other roles include sports coaches and PE specialists, exam invigilators (a seasonal position during relevant term periods), and qualified teachers (Early Career Teachers to Fully Qualified Teachers). Additionally, opportunities are available for retired professionals with expertise in behaviour management (including challenging behaviour, health, and social care settings), ex-forces personnel, and individuals with experience in 1:1 tutoring or support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervising and managing classrooms in absence of the regular teacher.
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring that students remain on task.
- Maintaining a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and progress.
- Managing behaviour effectively and implementing school policies as required.
- Providing support to students as needed and fostering a culture of respect and collaboration.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is preferred, not mandatory, as we provide in-house training on becoming successful cover supervisors within UK schools!
- Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
- Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and promote positive behaviour.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to varying teaching assignments.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to student welfare and achievement.
