Description:

Barker Ross are looking for Steel Fixers to work in Worksop, as a steel fixer your main duty will be fixing cages within a Precast facility. You will need to be able to follow and read drawings. You will play a crucial role in shaping the frameworks for buildings and infrastructure

Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of steel bars.
• Set up and prepare construction sites by removing debris and ensuring safety precautions are followed.
• Install steel bars into concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
• Secure steel bars with clamps, wire, or welds, and check for accuracy and stability.
• Use mechanical and manual tools to position steel bars and concrete in place.
• Inspect and repair faulty reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.
• Collaborate with construction team members and follow project schedules to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or in a similar role
• Must drive/have reliable transport to get to the location.
• In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication and reinforcing techniques
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
• Strong physical stamina.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in measuring and cutting steel bars.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
