The Role:

GSL Education's South Yorkshire branch is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher for a supportive Secondary School in Worksop. The successful candidate will deliver engaging IT lessons to students of diverse ages and abilities, create lesson plans and supplemental materials that cover the fundamentals of computer hardware, software, and programming languages. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment, and the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about making Computer Science accessible and enjoyable for all students.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive computer science lessons in line with the school’s curriculum standards while preparing students for assessments and future academic challenges.
  • Implement differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have the opportunity to excel.
  • Utilise innovative and interactive teaching methods, incorporating technology and real-world applications to enhance relevance and engagement in computer science.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages a love for learning and promotes respectful behaviour among students.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in Information Technology or Business Studies is preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent teaching experience as a Computer Science Teacher in a secondary school or within an educational setting.
  • Solid knowledge of the UK Computer Science curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with efficient classroom management skills.
  • Passion for education and student support.

To work with GSL Education as a Computer Science Teacher, you should:

  • Currently reside in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.
