NETWORK SUPPORT MANAGER

FRIDAY - SUNDAY OR SATURDAY - MONDAY:

£17.50 PER HOUR

People Solutions are pleased to be working with a well-known distribution company to support their delivery network across the UK with this hybrid / remote working managerial role.

Working Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday, you will be a key part of the delivery network team.

This is a flexible role where you can choose to work from home or work from an office based in a local store.

All necessary equipment will be provided to work from home if required.

Day to Day Duties

  • QHSE – ensure the highest levels of health and safety standards are met, utilising technology to its full and enhance behaviours, working closely with Senior QHSE Manager, Contract QHSE Managers and Regional Area Managers.
  • Actively engaged in the Road to Zero
  • Pro-actively lead the operations team to deliver high engagement of Health and Safety through Safety Conversations
  • Ensure minimum targets in behavioural safety observations are achieved
  • Adhere to GXO and B&Q site / business policies and procedures, full compliance of all internal and external auditing
  • All FTE and Temporary colleagues to have received all required training prior to carrying out tasks on the B&Q contract
  • All incidents / accidents to be fully investigated in line with set timescales, investigations to be reported through Fastworks and closed with a suitable outcome
  • Compliance – work with the Regional Managers and Compliance Manager to achieve and maintain highest standard of vehicle compliance and driver standards
  • All fleet to be maintained as per set planner, capturing non-site fleet as they move through the network as per Compliance Managers instructions
  • Any PG9 offence fully investigated and escalated to Senior Management team – ensure no risk to GXO OCRS
  • Robust control over site defect reporting, collaborate with Compliance Manager to ensure best method for defect repair is used
  • Drivers infringements to be managed through the DCRS policy, escalating where necessary
  • Missing millage to be investigated and accounted for
  • Drive best practice for driver performance through pro-active management and colleague engagement
  • Performance - The delivery of the service levels for the site, to challenge and continually improve results in line with contractual KPI / SLA's.
  • Responsible for Microlise compliance for core fleet.
  • Accountable for all housekeeping, end to end systemic adherence, responsibility to ensure all non-conformance addressed and remedial action taken
  • All non-conformance escalated
  • Finance – work with Regional Operations Manager to assist in delivering all contractual obligations within budget.
  • Manage and monitor colleague working hours through use of Telematics and T&A, ensure WTD is not breached whilst validating operational effectiveness
  • Control temporary labour usage weekly
  • Accountable for specials being processed and acknowledged systemically
  • People - Work closely with HR Team to manage all site colleagues through GXO policies and procedures
  • Hold regular performance reviews with direct reports, ensure that SMART objectives are set and continually monitored / reviewed
  • Manage shift holiday allocation – adhering to site caps on number of colleagues off at any time
  • Achieve 100% recruitment against all budgeted headcount, pro-actively recruiting any shortfall to budget
  • All new colleagues are processed as per company procedure
  • Colleagues are managed through AMP in fair and consistent manner as per company policy
  • Completing all area disciplinary procedures up to, and including gross misconduct
  • Integral assistance of delivering strategy for colleague engagement
  • To undertake any other reasonable task as required

Essential Skills

  • CPC holder
  • Understanding of key operational cost drivers and P&L or cost centre management and cost focussed
  • Confidence in utilising Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Evidence of operational management experience in a complex logistics, transport & manufacturing environment
  • Change management experience with a focus on business improvement and transformational management
  • Wide ranging communication techniques: written and oral, listening, influencing, positive body language and facilitation
  • Taking responsibility and demonstrating commitment
  • Evidence of respect and integrity
  • Analytical skills (structural & behavioural)
  • Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast moving environment and planning and organising skills
