About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science to join a thriving secondary school in Worksop. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to teach and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of some KS5 teaching. You will play a key role in nurturing a positive learning environment, preparing students for exams, and fostering a deep understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students in Science
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills

  • Excellent subject knowledge of Science
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Classroom management and behaviour management strategies
  • Strong IT skills for lesson planning and assessment
  • Creativity and innovation in lesson delivery

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Plan engaging and challenging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Prepare students for exams and assessments.
  • Attend parents' evenings and meet with parents to discuss student progress.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continue your own growth.
  • Uphold school policies and procedures at all times.
  • Promote and encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Set high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.
