SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time (Worksop)

Veritas Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role at a school in Worksop. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with both the teacher and pupils, providing tailored support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour.

The Role:

  • Provide direct support to a small class of 6-10 pupils, assisting the teacher in delivering personalised lessons.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create and implement engaging, individualised learning activities.
  • Offer 1:1 and small group support, adjusting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Support pupils in developing essential social, emotional, and communication skills to aid their personal development.
  • Track students' progress and report feedback to the teacher, contributing to effective planning and assessment.
  • Assist with managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a calm and safe learning environment for all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and a variety of techniques for managing behaviour and supporting diverse needs.
  • Patient, calm, and able to communicate effectively with both students and colleagues.
  • Skilled in managing challenging behaviour using proven strategies.
  • Able to recognise and respond sensitively to students' emotional and physical needs.
  • Must be able to commute to Worksop and work collaboratively with the school team.
