Job Title: Functional Skills Math TutorType of Business: EducationLocation: WorksopAnnual Salary: £26,352Start Date: ASAPContract: Temp until 31/7/24Hours: 37GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Functional Skills Maths Tutor to our client based in Worksop. The Functional Skills Maths Tutor will be responsible for the successful delivery of Maths accredited qualifications that form part of the Further Education programme for learners on an apprenticeship programme, or pre-apprenticeship programme, to gain their functional skills in Maths. The delivery will take place across college sites, as well as at employer premises and will take place either online using contemporary blended learning methods and, or face to face, encompassing both 1:1 and group delivery.Main Duties of the Functional Skills Maths Tutor:

  • To be responsible for the delivery of Functional Skills across a variety of vocational subjects, ensuring learners' timely completion on Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Using the Diagnostic Assessment material, assess levels of competency within literacy and numeracy for all learners and groups you are responsible for.
  • Design and implement an Individual Learning Plan with each learner tailored to their specific learning needs.
  • Regularly assess, monitor, review, evaluate and adjust the Individual Learning Plan when necessary.
  • Create, prepare and adapt teaching materials including google quizzes, assessments and assignments, to enable all learners to progress.
  • Prepare Curriculum Training and Assessment Plans (CTAPS), (previously known as Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment).
  • Produce and deliver appropriate individual and group exercises in order to achieve the Individual Training Plan and successful achievement for your learner.
  • Assist learner to produce work, in accordance with City & Guilds Standards for numeracy.
  • Assist learners to realise life and employability goals.
  • You will also support the training team by adapting and developing teaching resources for the teaching of Functional Skills.
  • Identifying and supporting learners with additional learning support where required.
  • Keep up to date tracking/progress of Functional Skills on pro-solution and one-file.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience of delivering Functional Skills in Apprenticeship Programmes
  • Experience of monitoring and tracking learner progression and achievement
  • Level 2 in English/Literacy
  • Level 2 in Maths/Numeracy
  • Teaching qualification
  • Familiarity with relevant training standards and assessment requirements
  • Ability to understand and use ALN/ASN criteria to support learner achievement
  • Ability to travel across various locations
