Grafton Banks Finance is working with a market leading listed business to recruit a newly created Tax Accountant role.
Reporting to the Head of Tax and Treasury this role will be responsible for preparing a range of key Tax and Treasury deliverables as well as supporting the monitoring of risks throughout the business. This role is highly visible in the business and will work closely with the Group FC and CFO.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with experience or direct and/or indirect tax compliance and reporting. Experience of R&D Tax Credits would be advantageous but not essential. Strong analytical skills are essential, and you’ll need to be an excellent communicator who is comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
This role is hybrid working with 2 days per week in our clients Worthing offices. Salary range is £45,000 – 55,000 + benefits including 5% bonus, private healthcare, 5% matched pension, and 25 days holiday.
Key tasks:
- Prepare the weekly consolidated short-term cash flow forecast model and cash actual balances.
- Prepare Research and Development Expenditure Credit calculations including half year and full year estimates.
- Provide detailed cost analysis for UK corporation tax returns.
- Prepare annual PSA/P11D returns including detailed analysis of costs.
- Prepare monthly VAT returns for the UK group.
- Support transfer pricing true up calculation process on a quarterly basis.
- Monitor banking controls and admin across the group to ensure fit for risk appetite.
- Support Group Tax & Treasury manager in ad hoc projects and business queries as they arise.
- Support the Group Financial Controller with ongoing monitoring and reporting on areas of focus for the Audit and Risk Committee.
This role would be a great opportunity for someone moving from a mid-sized accounting practice with experience of direct or indirect tax or someone working in a broad accounting role who enjoys the tax elements and is keen to move into this area.
