You must be experienced in the following:

  • Recruitment of staff in a large organisation
  • Supervisory or management experience
  • Providing HR related advice and guidance
  • Negotiating with external providers
  • Writing and reviewing policies and procedures
  • Designing and delivering training
  • Using coaching principles to help managers resolve HR-related situations
  • Working in a further education or educational establishment (desirable)


You must have knowledge on the following:

  • Up-to-date employment legislation, including the Equality Act 2010
  • HR policies and procedures
  • HR systems and reporting
  • Microsoft Office applications; including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Safe recruitment practices in education and safeguarding legislation (desirable)


You must possess the following qualifications:

  • CIPD qualified Level 5
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Current member of the CIPD
  • CIPD qualified Level 7 (desirable)


You must also be satisfactorily meet any employment checks (Disclosure and Barring Service Check / DBS, Health Assessments, References, Qualifications and Legal Entitlements to work in the UK, and must be able to travel between sites independently.

You will play a very important part within the Human Resources team, delivering first-class recruitment and induction, conducting salary surveys, and providing proactive advice on HR matters. You will also be responsible for:

  • Lead the HR Services team to deliver flexible, customer-oriented support to recruiting managers.
  • Conduct salary assessments, job evaluations, and participate in the Appointment Panel for new roles.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies like Vacancy Filler and 360 Resourcing to ensure successful recruitment, especially for challenging positions.
  • Foster effective relationships with internal recruiting managers to meet their needs.
  • Update Recruitment & Selection policies, family-friendly policies, and oversee their implementation.
  • Manage HR induction for new employees and utilize the HR Management Information System for business needs.
  • Undertake assigned projects and ensure accurate electronic and manual file management.
  • Administer new hires and job changes within agreed timelines, including recruitment paperwork verification.
