Teaching Assistant- WorthingThe Role:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school in Worthing. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of their students. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other staff to provide tailored support for students across all age groups and abilities.Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans for pupils with PMLD, MLD, SLD, and ASC.
  • Assisting with the physical, emotional, and academic needs of students, including personal care and mobility where required.
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that enhances each student's ability to engage and progress.
  • Encouraging independence and life skills through structured and creative activities.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for each student.
  • Helping to monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and contributing to reports where necessary.
  • Supporting students during outings and extracurricular activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, especially PMLD, MLD, SLD, or ASC, is highly desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic attitude, with a strong desire to support the personal and educational development of children with special needs.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care duties, where required.
  • A proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to meet the diverse needs of the students.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent, are advantageous but not essential.
