Business Function/Role Summary

The Worthing based Corporate Advice team within EQ UKSS is a leading, highly experienced and unique team. We handle all types of Corporate Actions which are becoming more complex, higher value and more international in nature, which is why we need an experienced and proactive (project minded) individual to join the team as an Executive, managing both the Employees Services (ES) and Registration tasks within Corporate Advice.

This role is focused on successfully delivering high profile, and often complex Corporate Actions including, Rights Issues, Takeovers, Scheme of Arrangements and Capital Reorganisations. This position offers the unique opportunity to be involved with all aspects of the planning and delivery of market sensitive transactions, working closely with Equiniti's corporate clients and their city advisers, regulators, market institutions such as Euroclear and CREST, as well as Equiniti colleagues from other specialist areas.

The successful applicant will be supported closely by the current team and will receive product training to enable them to become familiar with the different types of corporate activity and how they impact the Employee Share plan and Registration services we offer.

The roles requires you to have good planning, co-ordination and communication skills that need to be deployed under controlled conditions as much of the work will be market sensitive and highly confidential relating to both existing and potentially new clients.

As your knowledge builds there will be opportunities for you to manage your own tasks and in doing so you will develop working relationships with key client contacts and their advisors. You will strive to provide the best solution for the event that ensures the clients' needs are met and Equiniti's reputation as an industry leader is maintained, the aim must also be to minimise any associated risk both to the client and Equiniti.

  • Challenge processes and want to understand the Corporate Action environment.
  • Completing post project reviews and documenting lessons learned.
  • Knowledge of EQ products as our planning impacts many areas within the EQ Group.
  • An understanding of Employee Products

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • To be accountable for the successful delivery of your tasks.
  • Able to adapt and prioritise your workload considering the needs of the team.
  • Provide technical guidance on the mechanics of corporate events to both internal teams and external parties including legal advisors, banks, and clients.
  • To review and comment on content included within various documentation to support the requirements for each transaction, identifying and highlighting any key missing information to assist Issuers and advisors prior to launch of each Corporate Action.
  • Follow a prescribed ISO/governance process to provide a structured project plan which defines requirements to the Corporate Actions Operational team and any other relevant internal teams, such as CSN, Global Nominees and Employee Services with minimal supervision from senior managers.
  • Able to problem solve, looking at past precedents and discussing with the wider EQ group to find a solution.
  • Able to manage staff as and when the business requires.
  • Able to explain corporate actions in detail in a language that the audience understands.
  • Be involved in the quote process and defend fees when required.
  • Able to develop effective trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A natural approach to providing excellent customer service.
  • Generate detailed internal communications to guide the internal customers, IT, CEC Helpline, Employee Services, SIP Trustees, Corporate Actions, etc.
