The Commercial Solicitor will provide high-quality legal advice and services on a wide range of commercial matters, ensuring the company’s interests are well-protected and that it complies with all relevant laws and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to supplier agreements, customer contracts, distribution agreements, and licensing agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with the company’s business objectives.
- Advise on and manage legal risk associated with commercial activities, ensuring compliance with UK law and industry regulations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to support business operations, addressing legal issues as they arise in relation to commercial transactions.
- Manage disputes and claims related to commercial contracts, providing strategic advice on the best course of action.
- Provide training and legal updates to non-legal staff on relevant legal matters, ensuring understanding and compliance within the business.
- Collaborate with external legal advisors as required, overseeing the management of external counsel when necessary.
- Support the legal team in general corporate governance and compliance matters.
- Stay up to date with relevant legal and industry changes, proactively identifying potential impacts on the business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Legal Qualification: Qualified solicitor with a valid UK legal qualification
- Previous experience specifically in commercial law, ideally within a corporate or in-house legal environment.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of UK commercial contract law, corporate governance, and dispute resolution.
- Skills:
