Job Role: Material ControllerLocation:WorthingSalary:£25,000 - £35,000An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Material Controller to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Worthing. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of materials, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience in material planning, inventory control, and supplier coordination within a manufacturing or engineering environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Material Planning & Scheduling – Ensure materials are available for production in line with demand and schedules.
  • Inventory Management – Monitor stock levels, conduct cycle counts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Supplier Coordination – Work closely with suppliers to track deliveries, manage lead times, and resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Production Support – Ensure the right materials are available at the right time to prevent delays.
  • Stock Control & Reporting – Maintain accurate inventory data and produce regular reports for management.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement improvements to stock control and material flow processes.
  • ERP/MRP Systems – Use inventory management systems to update stock movements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Compliance & Safety – Ensure material handling and storage comply with company policies and health & safety regulations.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Material Controller, Material Planner, or Inventory Management role within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of stock control, supply chain processes, and production planning.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for material management.
  • Ability to analyze stock data, forecasts, and production schedules.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and process-driven approach.
