Interim Production Manager

Our client, a global specialist engineering company, is seeking a talented individual to lead their Production and Test Teams in Worthing. As the Production Manager, you will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the production processes, optimising resources and driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the effectiveness of the Production and Test areas, meeting business and customer demands.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and Team Leaders to manage Production personnel, including recruitment, training, and appraisals.
  • Coordinate Production and Test processes to achieve key metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
  • Foster a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement, enhancing working practises and KPIs.
  • Implement and sustain 5-S principles in all production areas.

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Ideally educated to HNC/NVQ5 or higher in management or engineering.
  • Proven experience in managing low-volume, high-mix manufacturing, preferably in a High-Performance Team environment.
  • Skilled in ERP systems, Supply/Demand signal management, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
