Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) in Acute Medicine and Accident & Emergency (A&E) provides specialized, person-centered care to patients in high-acuity settings. This role focuses on the rapid assessment, treatment, and planning of occupational therapy interventions for individuals with urgent medical needs. The OT will play a critical role in promoting safety, independence, and improved quality of life for patients while ensuring continuity of care from the hospital setting to home or rehabilitation facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment & Intervention

    • Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments for patients in acute medicine and A&E, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial evaluations.
    • Identify patients’ needs, strengths, and limitations to formulate individualized care plans focused on maximizing safety and function.
    • Implement evidence-based interventions to address mobility, daily living activities, cognition, and any other areas affecting functional independence.
