Location: WorthingShift Pattern: 24/7 (2 day, 2 night, 4 off, 12.25hr shifts on a 4 on, 4 off rotation)
One of the leading clients in the Pharmaceutical Industry is seeking a motivated Engineer to join their team as a full-time employee to support the Orals Value Stream as part of the Engineering Trade team. This role provides engineering trade support within the field of expertise, ideally multi-skilled Electrical / Mechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:-
CORE:
- Receive and complete maintenance work orders generated by the Merps system, supporting production targets and schedules.
- Uphold team behaviors and culture in line with the departmental code of conduct.
- Escalate issues to Lead Tradesman or Team Leader in a timely manner.

SAFETY:
- Develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements for tasks prior to execution.
- Work safely and report any safety issues to the team leader.
- Raise and investigate safety issues as required.
- Comply with all site and departmental safety procedures and systems.
- Raise or countersign permits to work where necessary.

COMPLIANCE:
- Ensure compliance with all GMP procedures and complete all GMP documentation accurately.
- Identify, report, and correct discrepancies in the Merps engineering database.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and repairs meet the highest quality standards, in line with statutory and client requirements.
- Support regulatory audits and compliance with applicable standards and procedures.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
- Identify and implement improvements to installed equipment to enhance site performance.
- Assist with the commissioning of new installations and inspect contractors' work prior to handover.

OTHER:
- Mentor apprentices.
- Audit engineering-controlled areas.
- Source and purchase spares for non-inventory items.
We are looking for a driven and motivated individual with experience in operational engineering, packaging, and manufacturing processes within a complex GMP environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Vision Systems and serialization, along with a solid understanding of packaging and/or manufacturing operations.
You will be a qualified engineer with a proven ability to drive performance, demonstrating a solutions-focused, common-objective approach. You should possess strong scientific and technical knowledge to support relevant processes at the Worthing site, understanding how these processes impact the quality and efficacy of the final product.
Key Qualifications:- Relevant engineering experience (ideally gained within a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility).
- Engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship).
- Knowledge of current GMP requirements within major pharmaceutical markets.
- Knowledge and application of Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles.
