Our lovely school in Worthing is looking for an Emotional Support Worker to join them in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for their students. They believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive both academically and emotionally.

This fantastic school is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Emotional Support Worker to join their team ASAP. This is a vital role where you will provide tailored emotional support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. As an Emotional Support Worker, you will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a safe and supportive environment for students.

Your Role as an Emotional Support Worker:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans alongside educational staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting trust and emotional well-being.
  • Help students identify and express emotions in a healthy way.
  • Facilitate social skills development and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor and track student progress, reporting on emotional and behavioral changes.
  • Encourage emotional awareness and self-regulation.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children with educational, social, emotional, or mental health needs is beneficial but not essential.
  • An educational background in Psychology, Criminology, or Education is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children.
