Mental Health Support Worker- Worthing

Engage Education are currently working in partnership with an all through school on an exciting new SEND TA position specifically to support learners with SEMH in the Worthing area.

Starting immediately, the school is looking for an outstanding SEND Teaching Assistant to join them on a long term temporary basis. If the role goes well there is the potential for this to turn into a permanent assignment.

This is supporting learners with SEMH needs, as well as a diagnosis of ADHD or Trauma & Attachment needs. This site is an all-through school, so there are opportunities to support both Primary and Secondary aged students.

Due to the location of the school - the ideal candidate will have to be a driver, with access to their own vehicle. There is no other means of accessing this site currently other than by car.

The ideal candidate must also have achieved a Grade C/Grade 4 Maths and English at GCSE - and be able to evidence this.

Your Role:

  • Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents

The School:

The school is a multi-site Special School and Alternative Provision for children who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Its curriculum is designed to meet the needs of pupils with diverse needs who are unable to attend mainstream school.
