We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a pupil referral unit (PRU). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs or behavioural challenges and is committed to helping vulnerable children achieve their potential.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Provide individualised support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, mental health issues, or trauma.
  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and personal development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to support the personalised curriculum for each pupil.
  • Help to maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or social care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting.
  • Good understanding of the needs and challenges faced by pupils in PRUs.
  • Positive and flexible attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
