SEN Supply Teaching Assistant (INA Role)

Location: Worthing

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

Contract Type: Long-Term Cover (with potential to extend)

Supply Desk are a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We place our teaching staff in day-to-day and long-term placements in an extensive number of Primary and Secondary schools East Sussex and West Sussex.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Supply Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support (INA role) for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is transitioning into a new Key Stage. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in a child’s life during a critical phase of their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with autism, helping them settle into a new Key Stage.
  • Assist in developing the child’s social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Adapt activities and materials to meet the child’s specific learning needs.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Skills and Qualities Required:

  • Experience working with children with Autism or in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting.
  • Focus on Speech and Language Development
  • Ability to build a trusting and supportive relationship with the child, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting transitions between key stages or environments.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging behaviour or learning situations.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Experience working as a SEN TA
  • Current DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply
  • The right to work in the UK
