Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: WorthingHours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
A specialist school in Worthing is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of needs including ADHD, Autism, Speech and Language Therapy, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, and general Special Educational Needs. Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide support to children with a variety of special educational needs, including ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and SLT.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans that meet individual student needs.
- Help create a positive and supportive environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work one-on-one with children who need additional support, as well as in small group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
- Foster independence and confidence in children with SEND, helping them achieve their full potential.
Requirements:
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential.
- A passion for supporting children with special educational needs, particularly ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and SLT.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
