About The School
Prospero Teaching are working with an excellent Alternative Provision in Basingstoke. The School are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to support pupils with additional needs and behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs and a strong commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education tailored to the individual needs of our students.

- Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary
- Full time/part time - Full time
- Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 120 per day
- Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm, plus parents evenings
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, in collaboration with other staff and specialists.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
Qualifications:
- Teaching certification or qualification in Special Education.
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with SEN students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
