The Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and systems across the site. You will focus on preventative and corrective maintenance, project management, and driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Managing and developing a team of engineers, providing leadership, support, and training.
Planning and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities on systems such as PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and electrical components.
Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues, and implementing sustainable solutions to minimize downtime.
Ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards across all maintenance activities.
Leading and managing projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
Collaborating with production teams to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
Maintaining accurate documentation, managing budgets, and reporting on KPIs.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent (evidence will be required).
- Is qualified to BTEC or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering.
- Has at least 5 years of engineering experience in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Has previous experience managing or supervising engineering teams.
- Possesses strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Is computer literate and comfortable using maintenance management systems (or willing to train to a satisfactory level).
- Has a proven track record of implementing improvements and managing projects.
