Utilities Engineer
Orion are currently recruiting for an experienced Utilities Engineer for a FMCG company based in Wrexham.
This is a standalone position that offers a unique chance to make a significant impact by managing your own itinerary and taking charge of mechanical tasks, with a focus on facilities maintenance. If you are passionate about installing new equipment, handling mechanical responsibilities, and contributing to a well-maintained industrial site, this role is for you.
Utilities Engineer Responsibilities:
- Installation of new equipment and machinery
- Mechanical maintenance tasks, with a focus on facilities
- Fire alarm testing and addressing related issues
- Greasing roller shutter doors and monitoring readouts
- Boiler maintenance work
- Utilizing the shire CMMS system for daily tasks
- Completing tasks related to stock management and stores utilization
- Covering sites on the Wrexham Industrial site
- Engaging in facilities management for offices
- Ensuring there is a safe environment for those who work in, or visit, any of our manufacturing facilities.
- Effective delivery of proactive, planned-preventative maintenance on utilities such as Steam boilers, Fire alarm Tests & Water treatment facilities
- Using the CMMS system
- Identifying and delivering against opportunities to implement changes and continuous improvement projects to maximise plant efficiencies and energy optimisation.
- Supporting the introduction of new equipment to our market-leading production facilities as part of our continued drive for innovation.
- Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with stakeholders, managing expectations where required.
- Ordering own spare parts for work where needed
- Working jointly alongside our projects engineering team and maintenance team at multiple sites where necessary
Utilities Engineer Requirements:
- Ability to handle both electrical and mechanical tasks and free up electrical shift engineers
- Experience in a manufacturing background is essential
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, roller shutter doors, and boilers
- Familiarity with the shire CMMS system
- Independent and proactive approach to tasks
- Essential
- Demonstrable experience within a similar engineering role
- Qualified electrically or mechanically (or time served)
- Proven desire and ability to deliver success
- Passion to learn new machinery and engage with machine manufacturers to build your skills and competence
- Great communicator
- Driving License
- Industrial steam boiler knowledge
- IT literate
- Desirable
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 (DOE) per annum
