Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to oversee the development, installation, support and maintenance of their infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance to meet critical clinical and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical lead in installing, configuring, and upgrading LAN, WAN, WLAN and telephony systems
  • Manage data network security, implementing firewalls, intrusion detection and authentication systems to maintain system integrity
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues, providing expert advice and timely support to users
  • Oversee third-party installations and contracts, ensuring timely issue resolution
  • Analyse network data to monitor performance, conduct capacity planning and optimise resources
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams and asset databases
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection laws, and network security standards
  • Train end-users and internal teams on data networking and telephony systems and advise on best practices
Requirements:
  • Strong background in network engineering with extensive experience in LAN, WAN, and WLAN systems.
  • Solid understanding of telecommunication and paging systems, including switchboards and video conferencing.
  • Proven track record in network security management, including knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, and IP management.
  • Ability to work autonomously, providing 24/7 on-call support as required.
