Overview Syntech Recruitment are working with a client who are looking for a skilled and motivated EX Certification Engineer to support the assessment, testing, and certification of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. This role plays a vital part in ensuring products meet international hazardous area compliance standards, including ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and the IECEx scheme.This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly experienced team at the forefront of explosion protection and safety compliance across global markets.?? Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations of equipment to ensure compliance with ATEX, IECEx, and other hazardous area standards.
  • Perform detailed technical assessments and conformity evaluations for EX equipment.
  • Interpret and apply IEC 60079 series standards and other relevant regulatory documents.
  • Liaise with manufacturers to support their compliance journey from design to certification.
?? Requirements ? Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IECEx/ATEX certification within a testing or notified body environment.
  • Familiarity with product compliance processes for explosive atmospheres.
?? Technical Skills
  • In-depth understanding of IEC 60079 standards for explosion protection.
  • Practical knowledge of Ex protection concepts such as:
    • Flameproof (Ex d)
    • Intrinsic Safety (Ex i)
    • Pressurization (Ex p)
    • Encapsulation (Ex m)
