Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Various Sites Across North Wales
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and mechanically minded Mechanical Fitterwith a strong background in mechanical fitting, pipe fitting, and steel erecting. The successful candidate will beon a variety of water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring high-quality installations, refurbishments, and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical fitting, pipe fitting, and steel erecting activities.
- Oversee the refurbishment and upgrade of water and wastewater treatment works.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards, including full pressure testing and ITP sign-off.
- Install steel structures and pipework for complex processes, such as manganese removal systems.
- Operate and manage heavy machinery, including 360 telehandlers with winch attachments.
- Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including confined space operations and working at height.
- Lead, train, and mentor teams to maintain high operational efficiency.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical fitting, pipe fitting, and steel erecting experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site.
- Experience supervising and coordinating teams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with fabrication and welding is advantageous.
Qualifications & Certifications:
- Advanced GNVQ in Engineering (Merit).
- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).
- CSCS Card.
- EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register).
- IPAF (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) & PASMA (Scaffolding Towers).
- Confined Space Training.
- Slinger Banksman & Telescopic Handler (360 Slew & Suspended Loads, including Winch Blue Card).
- Full clean driving licence.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working in water and wastewater treatment works.
- Experience working across multiple sites in the UK.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment installation and fabrication processes.
