The privately owned UK operation based in Chirk, Wrexham, has a turnover of £350million with ambitious plans to double that as well as exciting investment plans for the next 5 years. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the position involves full managerial responsibility for logistical operations onsite including haulage and distribution, warehouse management and inventory accuracy, and leading the logistics team to deliver excellent customer service in a next day delivery environmentFull-time permanent role, you will ideally live within a commutable distance from the Chirk plant. Offering an attractive salary with benefits including salary sacrifice scheme and various health and wellbeing initiatives. ---The Role- Negotiating with freight providers, mobile plant suppliers and plant/fleet maintenance contractors to ensure a cost effective, customer focused service is provided- Overseeing the efficient operation of a 500,000 sq. ft. warehouse with a warehouse team operating 24hrs / 7 days per week- Maximising productivity and minimising warehouse waste, maintaining accurate inventory and excellent pack presentation whilst increasing capacity by implementing continuous improvement strategies - Responsible for health, safety, environmental and housekeeping performance of the department, and also responsible for the performance management and development of the Logistics Team---The CandidateThe ideal candidate for the Logistics Manager role will be an experienced senior manager with significant experience overseeing the efficient operation of a fast-paced warehouse and distribution operation.
