We have an exciting opportunity available for a leading food manufacturer. Here at Futures, we are looking for an Engineering Manager due to continued success and growth of the business. 

Reporting into the Head of Engineering you will manage all aspects of work within the engineering function, whilst maintaining a constant focus on health and safety and employee welfare. To lead and direct the Engineering function, supporting business growth and change through strong project management, development of Continuous Improvement and lean ways of working, and control of financial budgets and suppliers.

Salary - 65k - 75k DOE 

Location - Wrexham area 

Role requirments - This role could offer relocation to work across the Group if and when required. The succesfull candidate must be prepared to stay away from home for extended periods. 

Industry - Food

Key responsibilities;

  • Manage the Engineering team’s development and succession plans.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place and the Engineering team are trained and compliant.
  • Drive a Continuous Improvement culture, working in collaboration with other departments, to improve operating performance, reduce waste, and control cost.
  • To work closely with the Quality and Production departments to ensure Engineering support
  • Take a lead for Engineering in planning for and hosting successful visits including customers,auditors, and company VIP visits
  • To comply and assist with all technical and HACCP requirements- ensuring product quality
  • Utilise the computerised maintenance management system to provide data on PM completion rate, breakdowns etc
  • Manager the Contractors
  • Due to the fast-paced nature of this environment and the requirement for change, the challenge will be to engage the team.

Successful Engineering Managers will be;

  • Previous experience of working within a FMCG food manufacturing environment
  • Experience of operating Engineering Management level
  • Degree / HNC or equivalent in Engineering
  • Demonstrable success in leadership during periods of business growth and change
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working well under pressure
