Gearbox Calibration Engineer - Wrexham - Excellent Salary plus benefits - (Senior or Engineer level)

What You Will Do:

  • Perform in-vehicle and rig-based gearbox calibration to enhance shift quality and fuel efficiency.
  • Engage in requirements capture, specification building, and the development of transmission control systems for off-highway vehicles.
  • Develop control strategies and analyse vehicle and rig-based data to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with rig and vehicle testing, working closely with the mechanical design team for seamless integration.
  • Provide service and customer support for legacy control systems and components.
  • Liaise with hardware and software suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

What You Will Bring:

  • A Degree/HNC in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the calibration of vehicle control systems, such as powertrain or chassis. Transmission or Driveline would be preference.
  • Proficiency in CAN-based vehicle systems and associated tools, including CAN analysis software.
  • Knowledge of automotive electronics, sensors, control units, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Competent problem-solving techniques and the ability to plan and organise work schedules to meet deadlines.
