Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - High Pressure Systems

Location: Wrexham initially, Daresbury, Cheshire after 6 months

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Equity + Benefits

About The Role

Lynx is representing an innovative engineering company at the forefront of developing sustainable recycling solutions. Their technology focuses on recovering and rubber materials through advanced techniques. As part of continued growth, they're seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the small engineering team.

The company are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of high-pressure jetting safety systems. You'll be responsible for taking projects from concept through to operational validation, working with both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design of high-pressure processing systems including safety enclosures
  • Develop comprehensive engineering drawings and documentation
  • Conduct engineering calculations and analysis for safety-critical systems
  • Create detailed designs using CAD (SolidWorks)
  • Manage projects from conception to completion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Significant experience in designing pressure vessels or similar safety-critical systems
  • Strong background in industrial safety systems and regulatory compliance
  • Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with ASME, BS, or similar pressure vessel codes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing complex technical projects
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred
