Skilled Machinist / Precision Engineer

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Skilled Machinist / Precision Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served machinist to work in a hands-on role within a precision manufacturing environment.


The Role

You will be responsible for machining precision components, working to engineering drawings, and ensuring the efficient operation of a busy machine shop. This role primarily involves working with manual machines, with training available for CNC operations if required.


Key Responsibilities

Machining Operations Set up and operate manual lathes, knee mills, and drills to produce high-precision components.

Engineering Drawings Read and interpret technical drawings to meet exact specifications.

Tooling & Finishing Use interchangeable inserts and grinding tools to achieve required finishes and tolerances.

Bench Fitting & Assembly Experience in bearing renewal and assembly work is an advantage but not essential.

Low Volume Precision Work Exposure to mould work and rubber machining is beneficial; training can be provided.

CNC Experience Not required but advantageous, with training available for the right candidate.


About You

Time-served machinist with experience in manual machining, including lathes, mills, and drills.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings and precision manufacturing.

Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.

Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
