gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Production Technician to work at their facility based near Wrexham

Performance Objectives

  • As a Production Technician, you will provide first response by trouble shooting breakdowns on equipment and jigs with the aim of improving productivity.
  • You will be responsible for adopting lean principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency and create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • First response for trouble shooting breakdowns, and issues with jigs and equipment (mechanical bias).
  • Utilising problem-solving tools and techniques to resolve issues related to safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Assisting with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on automation equipment in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out method study and work measurement activities to support the team in implementing efficient production processes.
  • Supporting line layout changes to ensure a safe and methodical way of working.

Person Specification

  • Self-motivated and trustworthy, a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency in executing and completing tasks.
  • An excellent communicator at all levels with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide regular status reports to keep the supervision and management team well informed.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to learn new skills and provide support outside core hours to support with operational needs when require.
  • Well, organised with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems
  • Computer literate with PC skills in Microsoft Office with a focus on using digital platforms.
  • Able to work flexible hours when required based on operational needs.
  • Educated to GCSE level with the motivation to undertake further education in an engineering qualification.
